City Considering Higher Density in Rural Areas

By  |

At its July 28, 2016 meeting, the Planning & Zoning Commission will consider reducing the required lot size in Conservation, Restrictive Green Space, and Incentive Greenspace, from three acres down to one acre.  The ordinance, proposed by Council Member Shane Evans, would also reduce the required lot width in these areas from 250 feet down to 150 feet.
The ordinance represents a significant deviation from Central’s Master Plan and effectively eliminates the Conservation, Restrictive Green Space and Incentive Green Space classifications.  These classifications would then have the same size and frontage requirements as Rural/Agricultural. Once voted on by the Planning and Zoning Commission, the ordinance could be heard by the Council in August.
