CFD Responds to Glen Oaks Kitchen Fire

By  |

From Central Fire Department
Sunday morning Central firefighters were dispatched to the 7600 block of Glen Oaks to assist the District Six Fire Department with a house fire.  Shortly after the first District Six engine company arrived, heavy fire broke through the roof of the home. The home suffered heavy damage and there were no injuries. CFD sent two engines and a district chief to the 6:24 a.m. blaze.
While the occupants of the home were gone, it is believed the cause of the fire was a stove burner left on after cooking.  This is the second response in as many weeks caused by fires accidently started in kitchens.
