A Geo-Jes Subdivision home, recently remodeled after last year's flood, was heavily damaged on October 31st as a result of a fire.  Central Fire Department Deputy Chief Charles Mondrick said the department was notified of the fire at 3:59pm and when crews arrived, fire was visible from the roof.  Firefighters immediately entered the home and discovered the attic was on fire. The fire was extinguished with no injuries to firefighters or occupants of the home.  It is believed the fire resulted from an electrical malfunction.  Fire companies from District Six and East Side assisted at the scene or covered a vacant CFD station.
A duplex apartment in the 14800 block of Central Woods (pictured) received significant damage from a fire Monday morning.  The cause of the November 6th fire is under investigation; however there were no injuries reported.  CFD Deputy Chief Charles Mondrick stated an occupant of the home left the residence around 8:00am and when she returned just after 11:00am the fire was discovered. As part of the Box Alarm system used by Central, East Side and District Six Fire Departments, East Side and District covered empty CFD stations throughout this incident.
