Central City Council Meeting Tuesday

The Central City Council will meet Tuesday, May 9 at 6 p.m. at Kristenwood on Greenwell Springs Road.  The meeting is open to the pubic.  The agenda is below.

I. Preliminary Business

II. Unfinished Business
1) An ordinance to amend and re-enact Title 26, Chapter 1, Section 26:301, Subsections (a)(5), (a)(6)(b), (a)(6)(c), and (a)(6)(e); Title 26, Chapter 1, Section 26:501; Title 26, Chapter 1, Section 26:601; and Title 26, Chapter 1, Section 26:701, Subsections (a)(10), (a)(11), and (b); to repeal Title 26, Chapter 1, Section 26:201; and to enact Title 26, Chapter 1, Section 26:802 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Central relative to alcoholic beverages and to provide for all related matters. (By Council Member Fralick) Council Action (April 25, 2017): Council Member Fralick moved to approve this ordinance. The motion was seconded by Councilman Vance. Public comment: None. Council Member Evans moved to defer this item for 30 days. The motion was seconded by Council Member Messina. Public comment: None. Vote: 5 yeas (Ellis, Evans, Fralick, Messina, Vance), 0 nays, 0 absent. Motion passed.

III. New Business

2) Report from Amanda Moody, Economic Development Director, concerning economic development within the City of Central.
3) Introduction of the following item(s) (with public hearing to be held at the May 23, 2017 council meeting):
a) An ordinance to amend the 2016-2017 Fiscal Year Half-Cent Budget to appropriate funds for landscaping around gateway signs and to provide for related matters. (By Council Member Fralick)
4) Public Hearing and action regarding the following instrument(s):
a) A resolution recognizing 2017 as the 91st anniversary of the International Economic Development and recognizing May 8 – 13, 2017 as “Economic Development Week” in the City of Central and remind individuals of the importance of this community celebration which supports expanding career opportunities and improving quality of life. (By Council Member Evans)
b) An ordinance to amend the 2016-2017 Fiscal Year General Fund Budget to appropriate funds for updating the Master Plan, Land Use Map, and Zoning matters and to provide for related matters. (By Council Member Vance) Budget Committee Action (May 4, 2017): Newman moved to recommend approval of this ordinance. The motion was seconded by Council Member Evans. Public comment: None. Vote: 5 yeas (Messina, Evans, Martel, Knapps, Newman), 0 nays, 0 absent. Motion passed.

IV. Zoning Cases
1) Introduction of the following item(s) (with public hearing to be held at the May 23, 2017 council meeting):
a) Case TA-2-17 – An ordinance to amend and reenact Appendix 1, Chapter 2, Section 2.2, Subsection (D)(4), of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Central relative to accessory buildings and to provide for all related matters. (By Council Member Fralick) Commission Action (April 27, 2017): A motion to approve TA-2-17 was made by Mr. Neal Chollette, seconded by Mr. Aaron Moak. Vote: 6 yeas (Messrs: Chollette, Matlock, Moak, Sharafkhani, Walker, Johnson), 0 nays, 1 absent (Mr. Sheridan) and the motion carried.
b) Case TA-3-17 – An ordinance to amend and reenact Appendix 1, Chapter 7, Section 7.2, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Central relative to standards applicable to pharmacies and restaurants with drive-through uses and to provide for all related matters. (By Council Member Ellis) Commission Action (April 27, 2017): A motion to approve TA-3-17 was made by Mr. Aaron Moak, seconded by Mr. Neal Chollette. Vote: 6 yeas (Messrs: Chollette, Matlock, Moak, Sharafkhani, Walker, Johnson), 0 nays, 1 absent (Mr. Sheridan) and the motion carried.
