Drainage Maintenance Plan Coming

By  |

Council Member Jason Ellis, a Professional Engineer, has written a proposal for a Drainage Maintenance Plan for the City of Central and guided that proposal through City Council approval in late March.
The proposal will be publicly advertised next Monday and invites engineering firms to submit their qualifications to take on the project. The scope of work calls for a complete mapping of Central’s drainage infrastructure, along with a plan to maintain the system and recommend the upgrades needed to prevent future local flooding.
The plan’s goals include a complete mapping of Central’s drainage system, identification of restricted flow points, and identifying the sections of drainage canals where the city does not have drainage easements or right of way to allow maintenance. The selection of a firm to complete the plan are targeted to take place in six weeks.
