Central Food Bank Gives Christmas Dinners to 80 Families

Last Tuesday and Wednesday the City of Central Food Bank handed out Christmas Dinners. Michelle Lewis said that though they were scheduled to open at 10, she found folks lined up at 9 am in the freezing cold!
The "Ham for the Holidays" effort was a great success with 80 dinners given out. Dinners consisted of a Smithfield ham​, yams, peas, corn, green bean casserole, stuffing and gravy, and brownie or cake mix. The Food Bank also gave out fresh picked oranges and grapefruit, donated by local residents. Volunteers Michelle, Kevin, Alfie, John and Sandi kept busy filling bags, loading groceries, and spreading the Christmas joy! Thanks for all of your efforts folks!
