Bodi White in Runoff, Scott Wilson Re-Elected

Runoff Elections December 10
    State Senator Bodi White (R) of Central will face Sharon Weston Broome in a runoff election on December 10 for Mayor-President of Baton Rouge.  White garnered 29% of the vote, and Broome 32%, emerging from a field of 12 candidates to make the runoff.
    Metro Council Member Scott Wilson (R), also of Central, was re-elected with 74% of the vote, defeating challenger Maranda White.  Wilson is serving his third term on the Metro Council from District 4 which includes most of the City of Central.
    Locally, the EBR Council on Aging tax passed with 51% of the vote, and the BREC tax passed with 61%.  Louisiana Constitutional Amendments 1, 4, and 5 passed, while 2, 3, and 6 failed.  There will be a runoff for U.S. Senator between John Kennedy (R), who got 25%, and Foster Campbell (D), who got 17%.  Garrett Graves (R) won the 6th Congressional District for U.S. Representative with 63%.
