Debris Removal Update

By  |

Anticipated Cost $8 Million

City hall reports that as of Monday 1,931 loads of debris have been picked up by the contractor for the City of Central, totaling over 100,000 cubic yards.
The City of Central contract includes those streets owned by Central, and excludes State and Parish roadways. The city expects there to be three passes for debris pickup.
Mayor Shelton states that FEMA should reimburse Central for 90% of the cleanup costs, with the remaining cost of close to $1 million to be paid out of Central's cash reserves.
