Fire at Central Walmart

Wal Mart Fire 1bCentral Fire Department was dispatched to Central Walmart on Sullivan Road on April 11 at around 9 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found a big box store with a moderate amount of smoke and the store still occupied. A fire had been extinguished with fire extinguishers by store employees and a customer on the yarn aisle. All occupants and store employees were evacuated from the building. Central Fire set up fans to remove the smoke from the building. Two juveniles from nearby Central Woods neighborhood were later arrested by Baton Rouge Fire Investigators in connection with the Wal Mart fire.  The names of the juveniles are being withheld due to their age.

The two were booked with aggravated arson. The store reopened today, April 12, at 7 a.m.
