In Memoriam: Godwin Aguillard

    Godwin Aguillard, a native of Chataignier, La and resident of Central, completed his journey in this life on October 12, 2015 surrounded by his family and friends. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer USS Aulick DD569 in the South Pacific. 
    He was preceded in death by his father, Alphen Aguillard, mother, Zolide Fontenot Aguillard, brother, Joseph Aguillard, and sister, Audrey Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elaine "Aline" Forbes Aguillard, a son, Jamie Aguillard, a daughter, Kohne Keen and husband John, a granddaughter, Lauren Leibenguth and husband Kyle, and grandson, Jared Aguillard.
    He was a member of First Baptist Church Central. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home on Hooper Rd., Central on Thursday, October 15, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Friday October, 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. until services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow immediately at the Port Hudson National Cemetery. 
    The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all of those who had a part in taking such great care him. A special thank you to Amedysis Hospice and especially his nurse Tammy, who he loved dearly. We will forever miss his quick wit and beautiful blue eyes.
