EBRSO Makes 4 Arrests for Wal Mart Thefts

KM_C224e-20150729142834    Pidgeon Lacosheia of Baton Rouge was seen on July 22 taking items in a shopping cart that she had not paid for and attempting to exit Central Wal Mart.  The accused had paid for only a portion of the items in her cart at self checkout.  After being escorted to the Asset Protection Office, it was discovered that Lacosheia had been caught in two previous thefts and had therefore been banned from Wal Mart as of 2013.  Lacosheia was advised of her rights, after which she said she did take the tiems without paying for them.  She was arrested for Theft of Goods and Entering/Remaining after Being Forbidden, and she was booked in EBR Parish Prison.

 

KM_C224e-20150729142917    Solomon Wright  of Baton Rouge was observed on July 22 at Central Wal Mart with two other males putting cans of baby formula into a shopping cart. He and the other two men attempted to leave the store without paying, and when they were approached by an employee, they ran to their car with the stolen merchandise.  The driver of the vehicle returned the merchandise after the accused and the co-defendants fled on foot.  EBRSO was contacted and caught Wright, the accused, near the Blackie’s parking lot on Sullivan Road.  The EBRSO Deputy brought Wright back to Wal Mart, at which point he was handcuffed.  Wright stated he did not know the names of the co-defendants who were seen stealing with him.  Wright was read his rights and arrested for Theft of Goods, Resisting an Officer, and Obstruction of Justice.  He was booked into EBR Parish Prison.
KM_C224e-20150729142856    Ashley Johnson of Baton Rouge was caught on July 23 removing clothes from the apparel section of Central Wal Mart and hiding the items in a purse.  The accused then tried to leave the store without paying.  Johnson had been caught trespassing and stealing from Cortana Wal Mart in 2014, and she was forbidden from returning to any Wal Mart.  Johnson was advised of her rights, after which she said she took items without paying, but she said she did not know she was banned from Wal Mart.  Johnson was again told that she is banned from Wal Mart.  She was then arrested for Theft of Goods and Entering/Remaining after Being Forbidden.  Johnson was also advised that she was being booked as a fugitive for BRPD due to traffic warrants.
 

KM_C224e-20150729142935   On July 23, Kevin Gary of Central was witnessed placing an air conditioner window unit and ice cream into his cart that had already purchased merchandise in it.  The accused tried to leave the store without paying for those items.  Gary was read his rights, after which he said he did take the window unit without paying.  He was taken to EBR Parish Prison and booked accordingly.
