February 2014 Building Permits

    During the month of February 2014 in the city of Central, a total of 16 new residential permits were issued.  The total valuation of these permits was $3,682,766.  
    Within these February  permits, one was issued in Burlington Lakes with a valuation of $176,450; one in Twin Lakes Estates valued at $281,776; one in Gates at Burlington valued at $151,398; one in Morgan Springs valued at $148,570; one in Boganvilla valued at $166,610; one on Morgan Rd valued at $414,192; another on Morgan Rd valued at $468,042; one in Village Lakes valued at $256,524; two in Woodstock with an average valuation of $224,377; one in the 18000 block of Greenwell Springs Rd valued at $205,536; two in Willowood Acres with an average valuation of $186,647; one in Sherrington Place valued at $159,298; one in Plantation Way valued at $182,510; and one in Bellingrath Estates on Keystone Ave valued at $249,814.
    Building valuation is the price based upon the square footage of the home used for permitting purposes.  The actual selling price of the home is usually higher than the valuation and depends upon amenities installed by the builder.
    On the commercial side, a permit was applied for the new 9th grade building at Central High School valued at $2,911,164; a permit for expansion of Dawn’s Sweet Tooth on Hooper Rd valued at $10,000; and a remodeling permit at 14112 Greenwell Springs Rd in the amount of $13,000.
