In Memoriam: Linda Gail Cole Courtney

God saw the road was getting rough, the hill too hard to climb;
He gently closed her weary eyes and whispered, “Peace be thine.”
 
Linda Gail Cole Courtney entered into rest on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 after a lengthy illness.   She was born in Bossier City on Feb. 4, 1939, was a graduate of Natchez High School and Spencer Draughon Business College and a long time resident of Baker.
 
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry W. Courtney, her children, Patricia Lynn Estess and husband Den; Cascille Dee Hammack and husband John; Jeri Nathali Courtney; Erin Hall and husband Charles Ray; James “Bill” Courtney and wife Terri, 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Nat Cole and wife Jackie and A. B. Cole and wife Bette, dear friends James and Geneva Hubbard and numerous nieces and nephews.   She is preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel J. and Cascille Darnell Cole.
 
Linda was a devoted mother and an animal advocate.   She loved to sing, dance and laugh.   She was fun-loving and warm hearted.   Her quick wit and huge heart will be greatly missed.
 
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home on Hooper Road in Central at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30th followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to OLOL Foundation–Blood Donor Center, P.O. Box 84357, BR, LA 70884.
