In Memoriam: Hezzie Fauntleroy

    Hezzie Eugene Fauntleroy, 85, long time resident of Central, LA, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 at Carpenter House. He served and defended his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He also served his community with officiating ballgames and volunteering his time with many organizations including the Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church, Central and also was a member of the Central Masonic Lodge #442.

    Visitation will be held at Zoar Baptist Church, Central, LA, on Monday, Dec. 16, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a Masonic Service held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Dwayne Rogers. Burial will be at Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Kean, Ryan Martin, Mike Browning, Bill Horton, Scooter Davis, and Chad Alexander.

    He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Browning Fauntleroy; son and daughter-in-law, Donald E. and Cathy Fauntleroy; grandchildren, Aaron Kean, Caitlin Jones, Adriane Messenger, John Paul Sheffield, Christina Martin, Melissa and Ashley Fauntleroy; two great-grandchildren with two more "on the way"; sister, Geraldine Davis; brother, Lloyd Fauntleroy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deidra Fauntleroy; and parents, Houston and Lillie Mae Fitzmorris Fauntleroy. Please sign the online guestbook at www.sealefuneral.com.
