Felix N. Smith, Sr. passed away at 10:45 PM Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge at the age of 83. He was a resident of Baton Rouge and was retired from the Secretary of State Office. Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Road, Central, LA 70818 on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 12:00 PM until religious services at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel conducted by Brother James Burton. Burial was in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge.
Survived by his wife, Wanona Olivier Smith; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Marty Meyers; 2 sons, Felix "Nat" Smith, Jr. and wife Lisa and Joey R. Smith and partner Thomas Marchini; 1 sister, Virginia "Poon" Temple;1 sister-in-law, Faye Smith; 7 grandchildren, David Smith, Rachael Gossett, Dustin Smith, Megan Smith, Ashley Meyers Castello, Cody Meyers and Lacey Meyers; 11 great-grandchildren and one expected. Preceded in death by his parents, Isham and Mary Smith; 2 brothers, William and Reginald Smith; 2 sisters, Vivian Robinson and Margie Conner and son, Kervin Paul Smith. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
