Burglary Ring Busted

By  |

Four persons suspected in as many as 60 car burglaries were arrested last week as a result of the actions of a Central homeowner.  Vince Ma of Morgan Place West noticed his motion sensor light turning on and saw a person on his surveillance camera attempting to gain entry to his vehicle.  The homeowner went outside and chased down the defendant, Shane Matthew Taylor of Baton Rouge, and held him until Sheriff’s Deputies arrived.
Taylor’s arrest led to the arrest of Desiree Delaune of Denham Springs who is now charged as an accomplice in several of the burglaries.  After being advised of his Miranda rights Taylor also identified Cody Pounds and Jacob Brocksmith, both of Denham Springs, as working with him in the area to burglarize unlocked cars.  Delaune, Pounds and Brocksmith have all been taken into custody.
The 60 plus car burglaries this ring is suspected to have committed includes a number in Comite Hills West and Morgan Place West here in Central.  Several of the thefts have included firearms.  Twenty charges have already been filed against Shane Matthew Taylor and 13 against Desiree Delaune.
