Layton LeBlanc of Sully Drive in Central was arrested last week by EBR Sheriff’s Corporal D. Akins on charges of Theft of Goods, Fraud, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.  On March 11th LeBlanc reportedly defrauded WalMart in Central by claiming a refund on merchandise he had not purchased.  A Walmart employee obtained the license number of LeBlanc’s vehicle and reported it to the Sheriff’s office.  Walmart also provided surveillance video of the incident.
The vehicle LeBlanc fled in was later found to have been hot-wired and stolen by LeBlanc.  During the investigation LeBlanc was also found to be wanted in Livingston parish for theft and for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.  He now faces additional charges for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in EBR Parish within the required three days.
