After sweeping their first two games to open the tournament, the Lady Wildcats took no time to win the pool.  Central’s JV team beat Redemptorist JV to clinch first place.  First up in the bracket was the Brusly Lady Panthers.  The Lady Wildcats led by Whitney East (5 kills) dominated early and completed the victory with 25-12 and 25-11 wins.  The semifinal game was a tough one against eventual tournament champion Lutcher.  The Lady Bulldogs jumped out early, and the Wildcats put up a fight, but Lutcher took the sets 10-25 and 19-25.  Next up for the Wildcats was the consolation match against district 5-5A rival Denham Springs.  The first set was a battle and Central came out on top 25-23.  Denham took advantage of several Wildcat miscues and took the second set 19-25.  The third and tiebreak set was a fierce battle between the two rivals.  Sarah Zito’s strong presence at the net (4 blocks), along with serving from Dylan Wilson helped the Wildcats clinch third place with a hard fought 19-17 victory.

The Lady Wildcats are 4-1 and will face Baton Rouge High Monday at 5:00 in the Wildcat gym.
