Blood Drive and Benefit for Brittany Lamana Michelli

By  |

Brittany Lamana Michelli was hit head on in an automobile accident on May 18th on Denham Road.  She suffered massive internal injuries.  She has had 13 surgeries with two more scheduled this week.  She has received 15 units of blood so far and will receive more as her healing progresses.  She is in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, and she is currently on a ventilator.

Brittany has lived in Hidden Creek subdivision off of Denham Road her whole life until she married her husband Jeremy Michelli.  They now live on Blackwater Road.  Her parents are Randy and Tammy Lamana and her father Randy Lamana is a School Board member for East Baton Rouge Parish.

There are two upcoming events to benefit Brittany and her family.  A blood drive will be held for her this Saturday, June 19th at the Central Wal Mart.  There will also be a blood drive and jambalaya benefit this coming Monday, June 21st at Northeast Elementary School at 13801 Pride Port Hudson Road.  The faculty and staff at the school have come together to host this event.  The cost of a jambalaya dinner is $6, and the benefit and blood drive will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  All blood donated will be used for the benefit of Brittany.  For more information, call Northeast Elementary at 654-5113.

Brittany and her family are very much in need of community support right now.  Blood donations, financial support, and prayers would be lots of help at this time.
