CHS Volleyball Takes District, Advances in Playoffs

    After clinching a district title last week, the CHS volleyball team swept visiting Carencro High School 3 sets to 0 Tuesday night at home. The Wildcats enter the state tournament as a number 13 seed and are set to take on Ben Franklin High School in New Orleans on Monday night at 5:30 in the Regional Round.
    Leading the Wildcats against Carencro were senior Paige Roberts, freshman Jordan Stephens, sophomore Madaline Tarver and senior Brenna Ferguson. Roberts collected 24 assists, 7 digs, and 1 ace; Stephens and Tarver both had 7 kills and 1 block; and Ferguson compiled 5 kills and 5 blocks. Kelsey Cooke had a strong showing with 8 kills and 5 digs. The Wildcats also picked up aces from Heather Clement, Cameron Clement, Kathryn Mancuso, and Kaitlyn Cooke.
