Central 48, Walker 7

By  |
The Central Wildcats hosted the Walker Wildcats at home last Friday, ending in a 48-7 victory.  Central is now 5-0 in district and 8-1 overall with one regular season game to go.
Central put up 21 points in the first quarter alone with two rushing touchdowns by Caleb Harris and one scoring pass from quarterback Jarrad Hayes to James Schopp.  All three extra point kicks by Greg Noel were good.  Walker responded in the second quarter with their only score, a 60-yard passing play for a touchdown, bringing the score to 21-7 at the half.
Central put up four more touchdowns in the second half, with scoring plays by Jarrad Hayes, Terrell Chatman, and Donald Lewis.  Lewis’ touchdown came when he made an interception and ran it 33 yards for the score.
With this victory, the Central Wildcats clinched a share of the district title.  Central will win district outright if they defeat Live Oak this Friday.
Wildcat Senior Night Friday
Central is looking at a possible sixth consecutive district championship if they defeat Live Oak this Friday at home.  The Wildcats have already earned at least a share of the title with their win over Walker.  This week’s game is also a big one since it is Senior Night and the last game of the regular season.  It should be a packed house, so arrive early to get a good seat.  Also this Friday, the CAYSA football players, who just won their own championships, will accompany the Wildcats as they run onto the field before the game.  Tune in to 100.7 FM The Tiger to hear it live!
