Roundabout Finally Opens This Weekend

The long anticipated and often delayed opening of the roundabout at Sullivan and Gurney may actually take place this weekend.  Utility relocation, a right-of-way dispute, and weather have delayed the opening for over two months.  The project was required in order to create entrances to the new Middle and Intermediate School complex on Sullivan Road.  The final layers of asphalt are being laid this week and striping is expected to be complete by the weekend.  Proceed with caution as the drivers of Central learn the rules of roundabouts.  The primary rule to remember is that the vehicle already in the the roundabout has the right-of-way, so as you approach the roundabout, even if you are on the larger road, remember to yield to those already driving in the circle.
