Wildcat Bowling Keeps on Rolling Against Scotlandville

After a two week layoff, the LHSAA Bowling Season got its 2^nd half underway.  Central High Varsity Bowling (4-4) picked up where they left off at the end of the 1^st half by continuing their good bowling on Wednesday (2-29-12).  Back in January, Scotlandville defeated Central 20-7, but on Wednesday the Wildcats returned the whipping by defeating Scotlandville (4-3) 20-7, upping the Wildcats winning streak to 4.

All in all, Central had the match wrapped up from the beginning.  In Games 1 & 2 Central stormed out to match ending 14-2 lead and led Total Pins by 109.  Central would use a season high 976 series in Game 1 to take a commanding lead in the match.  The Wildcats would also get a huge boost from new comer Alex David (Junior).  Bowling in his first match of the season, David bowled a 204 and 188 in the first two games and showed he’ll be a valuable arm in Central’s quest to make a deep run in the State Playoffs that start the last week of March.  David wasn’t the only Wildcat bowling strong in Games 1 & 2.  In the 1^st game Central was led by Jacob Garretson (Freshman) with a 215 and Team Captain Bryan Waites (Junior) chipped in with a 193.  The 2^nd game saw a more balanced attack from the Wildcats with games ranging from 154 to 188.

Knowing the Wildcats could not be beaten; Central went into cruise control for Game 3 and finished strong with a season high series of 2817.  Game 3 was led by Sean Murphy (Sophomore) with a 212 (his 1^st 200 game of the season) and Waites with a 200.  Scotlandville was led by their anchor bowler Deontrae Taylor with a 207 game, John Thomas with a 512 series and Donzell Dukes bowling 75 pins over average.  For the 3^rd straight match the Wildcats were led by Waites with a 558 series, followed by  Garretson with a 553, Murphy with a personal season high 515 (and led the Wildcats with 71 pins over average), David with a 498 and Kevin Murphy (Sophomore) with a 449.

Up next Central will try to avenge another previous loss when they bowl Zachary (3-4) on Thursday (3-1-12) at All Star Lanes (3:20pm).  Central looks for a season high 5 game winning streak and get above .500 for the first time all season.
