Comite Diversion Canal Funded

Congressman Garret Graves announced last week that Federal funding totaling nearly $3 billion has been secured for flood and hurricane protection projects in south Louisiana. Funding to complete the Comite River Diversion Canal is included in approximately $600 million designated for East Baton Rouge.The Comite River Diversion Canal is estimated to be completed in three to four years and is designed to reduce flooding by lowering the crest of the Comite River during heavy rain events. Congressman Graves is the Chair of the Water Resources and Environmental Subcommittee.
