Last Saturday, February 24, the Central High School powerlifting team competed in the regional competition held at Woodlawn High School.  All five members of the girls' powerlifting team, and one member from the boys' team, placed and will be representing our region at the state competition on March 17 in Alexandria.
Here are some highlights for our team:  Brianna Huber placed first and Tina Ridgell placed second in the 114 weight class.  Reagan Willis placed first in the 181 weight class.  Alyssa Dixon placed second and Hannah Deizel placed third in their weight class.  Sid Ridgell placed first in the 181 weight class for boys.
Reagan also was awarded a plaque for the best heavy weight lifter in the girls' competition.  She also broke the state records for all three categories of lifting: squats, bench, and deadlift.
