Drainage Improvements to Begin July 10

According to a City of Central press release, Looks Great Services of Columbia, MS is expected to begin work to clear off-road drainage canals on Monday July 10th. $4 million was appropriated for the project on April 17th.
The execution plan for the project states: "The focus of this work will be in the five (5) named streams in the City of Central: Beaver Bayou, Blackwater Bayou, Draughan Creek, Hub Bayou, and Saunders Bayou. The work will commence on the north side of the City of Central and continue in a southern direction."
The first drainage canal to be worked on is Saunders Bayou, which runs north to south and crosses Highway 64 at the north end of Blackwater Road.
