Cooking in Central Success

$60K for Schools and Teachers

Cooking in Central's annual event, in a new "One-Day" Saturday format, was a huge success, raising $30,000 for public, private, and parochial schools in Central, and providing another $30,000 to help teachers replace materials and supplies lost in the 2016 flood.
The event format spanned a full day, beginning with award-winning barbecue, continuing all day with local performers and live and silent auctions, and winding up with the famous "largest crawfish boil in Central' and live bands. Major improvements to roads, parking, and drainage on the "Amazing Place" property on Blackwater Road helped make this year's event as smooth as ever and great fun for the entire community.
