City Council Approves Arbor Grove

Approximately 100 citizens attended Tuesday’s City Council meeting, with all but a few opposing the approval of the proposed 70-home Arbor Grove subdivision on Joor Road just south of Rambling Oaks. The sometimes-heated public comment centered around concerns that additional development may causing more local flooding.
A common theme in much of the opposition to approval was that the city defer the vote until the city’s comprehensive drainage study is completed, providing better information on which to base a decision. The City Council unanimously approved the development, taking the position that flood studies provided by the developer and reviewed by the city do not evidence a negative impact on potential flooding.
