CMS Paints It Pink
The Beta Club and National Junior Honor Society at Central Middle School have been very busy recently. Data Specialist Katrina Williams sponsors the National Junior Honor Society and Choir Director Trey Miller sponsors the Beta Club. Both are extremely proud of their students, who decided to decorate their school in pink to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The hallways, classrooms, offices, even the lampposts and signs outside are completely covered in pink ribbons, pom poms, garlands, balloons, and streamers. Members of both clubs stayed after school last Monday and worked for hours to complete the transformation. In addition, students sold pink t-shirts to raise money for the Elliott-Elliott- Head Breast Cancer Research and Treatment Center in Baton Rouge. Students were allowed to wear the shirts on Tuesday, creating a mass of pink support. The fundraiser raised $2,000 for this great cause. Not resting on their laurels, the clubs plan to create a Wall of Heroes to honor our veterans on Veterans Day. It can be viewed at Central Middle beginning November 11th. The public is welcomed.
