Flood 2016

Shelter at Home Program

By  |

From the Rebuilding Central Facebook Page
The Shelter at Home Program gives eligible individuals or families the opportunity to stay in their homes while they rebuild.  Single-family, owner-occupied properties are eligible if up to $15,000 in repairs would allow them to live in their damaged homes while more permanent repairs are made.  Flood waters cannot have exceeded 2 feet above the floor of the main living area, unless an exception is granted on a case-by-case basis.  All people interested in this program must apply individually (separately from registering with FEMA or SBA or filing a flood insurance claim with NNFIP).  The state will announce an application website and phone number on Monday.  The application process is separate from FEMA or SBA and must be done in addition to those applications.
