Local Churches Giving and Receiving Help
The following churches in our community took on water and still need help with cleanup. Please consider volunteering as your families' and neighbors' homes are stabilized.
- Berean Ministries – 6565 Morgan Road
- Blackwater United Methodist Church – 10000 Blackwater Road
- Covenant Community Church – 22325 Greenwell Springs Road
- Immanuel Baptist Church – 10870 Lovett Road (presently holding their services at Grace Presbyterian)
- Journey Church – 17407 Greenwell Springs Road
- St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church – 14040 Greenwell Springs Road
- Zoar Baptist Church – 11848 Hooper Road

Several other churches – Greenwell Springs Baptist, Deerford United Methodist, Indian Mound Baptist, and Milldale Baptist, took on water but are thankfully receiving enough help.
- Fellowship Baptist at 14512 Greenwell Springs Road has opened a shelter and needs volunteers to help staffing it. They are also offering breakfast starting at 7, lunch at noon, and supper at 6, plus hot showers.
- Greenwell Springs Baptist has Billy Graham Ministries sending teams of people to assist with damaged homes. If you need help, sign up at the church.
- Cornerstone Christian Fellowship is hosting the Mennonite Disaster Relief Team – 75 volunteers from all over the country here to help mud out – and has food and supplies.
- Covenant Community has food, diapers, toilet paper, paper towels, hygiene products, water, etc. available.
- Journey Church is offering food and cleaning supplies.
- Magnolia Methodist has cleaning supplies, food, water, and toiletries plus bleach and biocides with which to start spraying down houses.
- St. Alphonsus has their St. Vincent De Paul food pantry open Monday – Friday 9-2. Food, baby supplies, and cleaning supplies.
- Zoar Baptist is taking Disaster Relief Mud Out Assistance requests. You must come to the church to fill out the request. Their preschool open house will be Friday, 8/26 from 9-11, with school beginning 8/29 at 9.
- Blackwater Methodist has its "Donation Depot" open with clothing, food, hygiene products and cleaning supplies.
