Gateway Transition Center Announces Fall Day Program

    Gateway Transition Center has announced their Day Program for the fall.  This program helps young adults with autism develop fundamental social, pre-vocational, and life skills needed to live, work, and thrive in the community.  Good candidates for the day program are young adults ages 18-26 who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, who have exited high school or a secondary academic program within the past 3 years, who are able to converse, and who have a personal desire to become more independent in daily living.
    Dates for the program are August 22 through December 9, 2016, either Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., OR Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.  The program will be held at Gateway Transition Center, located at 10510 Joor Road where Starkey Academy was formerly located.  The cost for the program is $2,800 if paid in full by August 1, OR a $100 deposit due by August 5, plus $600 monthly tuition due on the 15th of August, September, October, November, and December.  Enrollment closes on August 5.  Please contact Gateway Transition Center about possible scholarship opportunities.  For more information about the program, visit www.gtcbr.org/service/day-program/ or call 384-6338.
