In Memoriam: Jack Wilton “Willie” Wunstel

    “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. Jack Wilton “Willie” Wunstel, 88, resident of Central, LA, passed away peacefully Friday, April 22, 2016. An Army and Navy veteran who fought in World War II and the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of Blackwater United Methodist Church. Visitation was held at Blackwater United Methodist Church, Central, LA, on Tuesday, April 26, until the service. Burial followed in the church cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zack Paul Wunstel and Genevia Wascome Wunstel; sisters, Dorothy Wunstel Long, Hazel Wunstel Prusicki; wife of 44 years, Shirley Yost Wunstel; and great-grandson, Ty Fairley. He is survived by 4 children, Sharon Wunstel Waites and husband, Ricci, Jon Roger Wunstel and wife, Ann, Joanne Marie Wunstel, Sean Richard McGowan; 6 grandchildren Kassie E. McNabb, Justin J. McNabb, Jason McGowan, Danny Ordes, Donald Ordes, and Chrissy Ordes McRae and husband, Brian; 9 great-grandchildren, Jace Lyn Dunn, Brennon McGowan, Brittane McGowan, Devin Ordes, Chloe Ordes, Kayla Ordes, Isabella Ordes, Paisley Fairley, and Carter Fairley; wife, Elsie B. Wunstel; step-son, Dean Padgett, Sr.; step-daughter, Olga Matherne.
