Beginning in the Fall of 2016, CHS will offer a dental assisting class for Juniors and Seniors only.  Students will learn the fundamentals of dental assisting, including dental terminology, instruments, taking dental x-rays, and working with dental materials.  The first semester will be in the classroom and most of the second semester will be spent interning in dental offices.  Upon completion of the course, students will be certified to take dental x-rays and will be prepared to take the Expanded Duty Dental Assistant test.  To be eligible for the class, students must have their own transportation, be up to date on all vaccinations, must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and a good referral from two teachers.
