1bROUND 3, WILDCATS BEAT MADISON PREP

On Tuesday (3-29-16) at All Star Lanes the #6-Seeded Wildcats defeated #11-Seed Madison Prep in a blowout 26-1 and 3587-2752 to move on to Round 4.  Central rolled three of the best games in school history with a 1237, 1217 and 1133.  The 3587 is a new school record for team series.  Junior Dylan Ringo led the way with his first LHSAA 700+ series with a 702 (277, 213, 212).  Senior/Captain Johnathan Ryder followed with 622 (226, 208) and Junior Parker Aucoin added a 459 2-game series (225, 224).  Junior Parker Wales added a 204, Sophomore Dell Dickerson had 195, Junior Klaivon Woods rolled a 193, Freshman Michael Williston rolled a 192 and Bryce Delaune rounded out the rotation with a 182.

ROUND 4, CENTRAL KNOCKS OFF UNDEFEATED ALBANY

Round 4 was very similar to Round 3 as the Wildcats once again won in blowout fashion against undefeated Albany.  Central steamrolled Albany 22-5 and 3274-2851.  The Wildcats officially won the match by netting the needed 14 points after 2 games by winning both games 7-1 with a 1176 and 1124.  Delaune was high on the team with a 608 (215, 214) and Aucoin followed with a 557 (235).  Ringo continued his hot bowling with a 461 2-game series including a 268.  Other scores included Wales with a 204, Ryder with a 192 and Woods with a 186.  With the victory Central had one more round to bowl on Tuesday, up next was undefeated District Champion Catholic.

ROUND 5, CATHOLIC ENDS CENTRAL’S SEASON, RYDER ADVANCES IN SINGLES

After a gutsy performance all day, the long day of bowling finally caught up to the Wildcats as they fell to the Catholic Bears 6-21 (3340-3575) in the round of the Final 8.

Earlier this season, Catholic beat Central in an extremely close match 16-11 and by only 17 pins.  Similar to that match the two teams came out strong.  In a very close opening game, the Bears would stun the Wildcats 5-3 and 1290-1285.  The 1285 is a new school record for Central with an average of just over 214 per bowler.  The record setting game was highlighted by Ringo’s 246 and Williston’s 232.  Aucoin added a 227, Ryder followed with a 202, Delaune rolled a 192 and Wales rounded out the great game with a 186.

Game 2 saw the fatigue start to set in from the long day as Catholic won 6-2 and 1200-1062.  Needing a big Game 3, the Wildcats were unable to mount a comeback as Catholic also won the final game 7-1 and 1085-993.  Ryder led the team in the final two games with a 221 and 214.  Wales added a 206 and Ringo capped off his solid day with a 182.  Ringo would finish with a 589, followed by Aucoin’s 562 and Wales’ 561.  Even with the team being eliminated, Central’s season will continue with Ryder finishing his four years of bowling at Central in the State Singles Finals after qualifying with his 637, on Friday (4-8-16) starting at 11am, admission is $5.  Good luck Johnathan!

The Wildcats finished up another very strong season.  They finished the 2016 season as BR District 1 Runner-Up and Louisiana High School Invitational Champions, with new school records for series (3587) and game (1285) and dominated the 2016 BR District 1 All District Teams with five (of the six) starters being named to either the first (2) or second team (3) with Parker Aucoin being named District MVP.  With only one senior on this year’s roster, the Wildcats look poised to continue to be strong for next year and make another run towards bringing home a State Championship in 2017.
