Lady Wildcats Softball 7-1 Going Into District Play

    The Central High School Lady Wildcat softball team opens district play this week against Denham Springs at North Park. Currently, the Lady Wildcats are off to one of the best starts in a decade. They are 7-1 with wins over Thibodaux, Northshore, Mandeville, Covington, Deridder, Plaquemine, and False River. Their only loss is to Riverside Academy. 
    This year is made up of 3 seniors – Bayleigh Anders, River Hubard, and Madelyn Tarver; 6 juniors – Hannah Cowart, Alyssa Habig, Emily Hollier, Destinee White, Heather Zumo, and Heidi Zumo; 8 sophomores – Emily Danehower, Bailie Johnson, Kamryn Jordan, Ashlyn Lord, Mallory Marcotte, Raegan Willis, Krystal Stubbs, and Brooklyn Wascom; and 5 freshmen – Raven Burkhalter, Taliyah Joseph, Ali Pourciau, Tori Richard, and Maci Werchen. 
    The Lady Wildcats are on pace to set a new home run record for the season. They have hit 9 home runs in 8 games and have scored 70 runs for the season.
