CFD Responds to House Fire

    An early morning fire in a vacant home in the 3100 block of Vancouver Saturday, November 21 sent two engine companies and two chiefs from CFD to assist East Side, District Six and St George firefighters.  The alarm sounded at 1:17 am and on arrival, firefighters found the home totally involved with the fire extended to a neighboring home.  Firefighters quickly attacked both structures and were successful in preventing the flames from reaching a third home.  The fire was controlled at 2:03 am with the vacant home being totally destroyed and the neighboring home suffering damage.  One firefighter was injured and treated at the scene by EMS and the cause of the fire is undetermined.
