In Memoriam: Leo Amedee, Jr.

By  |

Leo Donald "Tiger" Amedee, Jr., was born Sept. 12, 1960, and departed this life on Aug. 1, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Theresa Rivet Miller of Valverda, and Leo Donald Amedee, Sr. of Rosedale, LA. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 36 years, Stephanie Fitzgerald Amedee; daughter, Christy Amedee; grandchildren, Skylar Nicole Whittington and Christian Leo Amedee; daughter, Misty Amedee Rushing; grandchildren, Kindal Lynn Clarke and Kobe Michael Clarke; brother, Leroy Joseph Amedee; sisters, Janice Amedee Cope, Sherry "Patches" Johnson, and Melissa Ingrid Miller; and multiple nieces, nephews and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Donald Amedee, Sr.; and sister, Ursula Andress Huff.
Leo was always his own man. A truly unique person, who was loved by so many. Leo was a master sheetrock finisher who took pride that both of his daughters became experts also. Leo was the best husband that I could have ever asked for. Always putting his family's needs above his own. He swept me up at the age of 14 into a love that consumed us both. His loss leaves a vast yearning of my soul. Leo found Jesus Christ soon after becoming ill in 2004. He brought many others into the Light. He is now resting in the loving arms of our Lord and all of his illness and suffering are gone. He leaves so many lives better off for having known him. Leo enjoyed reading his bible, knife collecting, watching TV, spending time with his family, music, and baseball with his grandson. He was also a master in the art of shooting the bull. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Central, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will resume Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge.
