Baton Rouge Soccer Club Expanding to Include Central

By  |

Central Campus formed Baton Rouge Soccer Club (BRSC) and BREC have taken another big step in building on their partnership by starting a Central Campus for BRSC. The two organizations will combine each other’s resources to continue the growth of soccer in the Central area. Baton Rouge Soccer will help provide coaching education, free skills clinics, infrastructure, player development, additional program options and marketing support to the Central Community. Starting in the fall of 2015, all BRSC – Central Campus players from age four to seven will register with BRSC and participate in programming in Central. These younger teams will play their matches at the Central Sports Park, and will be the start of Baton Rouge Soccer Club – Central Campus. All Central based players from ages eight and above will register with BRSC, and continue to participate in programming at Burbank, and other area parks. This process will give older BRSC – Central Campus players the opportunity to choose a variety of program options provided by BRSC including Recreational, Academy, and Competitive levels of play. “The primary mission of Baton Rouge Soccer is to provide a quality soccer experience to all members by offering players the option to play at the level most appropriate for their skill and commitment levels,” said Bo Cassidy, BRSC Executive Director. “We are super excited to be able to provide the same opportunities to those who live in the Central community!” “Last fall we launched the same program in the Zachary community and it has been a successful process of growing and promoting soccer there. We want to bring the same commitment to excellence from our professional staff and the same positive playing experience to players in Central by offering this specific program to them,” said Cassidy. “Central is proud to have Baton Rouge Soccer and BREC to bring youth soccer to Central,” said Jr. Shelton, Mayor of Central. “We love activities that involve kids and families. This is a great opportunity to get kids active and learn the fastest growing sport in America.” BRSC will be offering free skills clinics designed to help players in Central sharpen their soccer skills leading up to the start of the season. These will be held at the Central Sports Park on August 6th, August 20th, and September 3rd and will all start at 5:30pm. Registration for BRSC – Central Campus is now open, and players can either register online at brsoccer.org, or by calling Baton Rouge Soccer Club (225) 924-2157. Early bird discounts for early registration ends on Thursday, August 27th. Online registration closes on September 4th . For more information please visit www.brsoccer.org
