The Crowning Moment queens from all around Louisiana came to participate in the Families Helping Families of GBR in the annual Active for Autism 5K. Attendees and the beauty queens shined in the rain to help raise awareness for autism. The local beauty queens made posters to cheer on the runners along the route, took pictures with participants, provided entertainment, and even lead the one mile walk for autism.  Even President and Founder of the Avoyelles Autism Network, Amanda Reed, traveled in from Moureauville, LA for the event. The Crowning Moment offers youth mentoring and pageant coaching to girls across the Gulf Coast. Girls and their families spend time not only on the stage, but participating in community events, working with charities, and showing first hand that it’s more important to wear their crowns on their hearts by serving others.
