Letter to the Editor: Good Deeds

By  |

Friday night my grandson lost his wallet.  An employee at GM Cable found it in the parking lot at the Central Wal Mart.  This employee went well beyond the normal to try to reunite my grandson with his wallet.  He took the time to drive out to the address listed on his driver's license.  Unfortunately, he was unable to locate the house.  Monday morning he turned the wallet over to his boss, Gil Matherne.  Mr. Matherne noticed that there was an ID card with my grandson's picture and place of employment.  Lucky for my grandson, Mr. Matherne had a good friend who worked at the same place.  Mr. Matherne contacted this person and asked if he would relay the message to my grandson that he was in possession of his wallet.  His wallet was returned to him with everything still in it.
I just wanted to thank Mr. Matherne and his employee for everything that they did to track down the owner of the wallet.  There are truly amazing people that live and work in the Central community.
Thanks again,
Brenda Landry
