The Central Chamber Report: New Business of the Year – Southern Charm Marketplace!

By  |

ChamberReportB    On Thursday February 26 the 5th annual Central Chamber Awards Banquet was held.  The evening was eventful and memorable.  Over the next few weeks we will highlight the award winners of the various categories.  This week we are highlighting The New Business of the Year for 2014 – Southern Charm Marketplace
Southern Charm Marketplace joined the Central Chamber in July of 2013.  The owners, Kristen Perrin and Mindy Callendar, are no strangers to the concept of coming up with a business idea, devising a plan, and launching out into the world of the commerce unknown.  Kristen and Mindy truly exemplify what it means to be entrepreneurs.  They came up with the idea of marketing several small independent businesses in one “Central” location.  This inspired several individuals to launch out into their own business career and come to Southern Charm Marketplace.  After starting Southern Charm Marketplace, Kristen and Mindy quickly realized they would have to move to another location that was better suited to handle the variety of small businesses they had attracted.  Since starting their business, some of their previous clients have branched out and moved their business to their own separate location. Without planning on it, they became a business incubator for the commerce community.  It is this kind of visionary spirit that breeds economic development among small businesses, which are the back bone of the American economy!  It is an honor and a privilege to declare Southern Charm Marketplace the 2014 New Business of the Year Award winner!
