Reverend Jonathan King, Associate Pastor at Blackwater United Methodist Church, will be under the Pavilion in Central Square on Wax Road on Wednesday February 18 from 11AM-1PM.  He will be holding a bowl that will contain ashes and oil.  When you come the ashes will be placed in the sign of a cross on your forehead.  You will then hear, "Repent, and believe the gospel."  He will then be available to say a prayer with you as you seek to get closer to God in preparation for Easter.  This is a part of Blackwater United Methodist Church's initiative to make God's blessings available to the public in a public place.  You see, it will be Ash Wednesday.   This is a day that begins a journey to look at our lives and turn towards God.  Ashes are a symbol of our mortality reminding us that we all have a given amount of time to serve God.  The oil is God's blessing on our lives.  You may come and go as you please during this time.  Everyone is welcome!  Please email Jonathan ([email protected]) with any questions.
