The Central Chamber of Commerce C4 Report: Ten Years!

By  |

We are excited to have the opportunity in 2015 to celebrate 10 years of service to our area businesses and our community!
In 2012, the United States Chamber of Commerce (est. 1912) celebrated its 100th anniversary of “Standing Up for American Enterprise!” The first Chamber of Commerce formed in the United States was the New York State Chamber of Commerce in 1768.  In 1773 the first local Chamber of Commerce was formed in Charleston, South Carolina.  Since then, over 5,000 local Chambers of Commerce have been formed across America.  The Central Chamber of Commerce was established in June of 2005, a mere 10 years ago.  Compared to 1768, 1773, and even 1912 we are but youngsters in the Chamber world!  However, through the dedicated efforts of our members, our board, our staff, ongoing training, and support from fellow chambers we are growing and becoming a resource for area businesses as well as the local community.
As we move into 2015, the Central Chamber looks forward to continuing to work with our investors, the business community, city officials, the school system and our citizens to making the City of Central the place to work, shop, play and live!
