Letter to the Editor

By  |

This letter is from one of our active duty service members who is currently deployed overseas.
We wish to express our greatest appreciation to all those who helped my wife through the birth of our son, Alan Benjamin, the day before Thanksgiving at Ochsner Health Center on O'Neal Lane.
To Elizabeth – You are probably still upset at Daddy for not being there beside Mommy to welcome the arrival of your little brother.  You are too young to read or understand why Daddy is not home but I hope one day when you are old enough to understand you would forgive me for not being there.
To Bradley – Thank you for being such a great brother and an awesome uncle.  Whoever finds you is one lucky lady.  Fortunately for us, she has not found you yet; we could not have managed without you.
To Mom, sisters and family – Thank you for everything.  Your love is the constant support that we lean on.
To the staff at Ochsner Health Center – Please accept my deepest gratitude for helping my wife and son.  Thank you for your compassionate and professional care.
To my dear wife and son – Please forgive me for slacking on my duty as husband and father.  Your support and sacrifice enable me to fulfill the duty of serving the country.  Honey, you are a warrior in your own right.
With much love and respect,
BC
