Two local churches have united their congregations and are expecting great things.  Central Worship Center and Grace Family Church are now joined together under the name "Grace Family Church" and will be located at the Grace Family site on Denham Road.  The move came about when Grace's pastor, Dave Delino, was moved to a new appointment in Abbeville.  Searching for a new head for his church, he approached Bill Parsons, pastor for Central Worship.  After much prayer and consultation with their presbyter Howard Eiland, the two brought their vision to their congregations.  Both congregations enthusiastically embraced the idea, and after 2 services, Brother Bill was installed as the new pastor for the joined congregations.
Central Worship Church and Grace Family Church have the same roots, in that they were both started in other parts of Baton Rouge by Earl Eckles as Independent Full Gospel churches.  Central Worship's history goes back 60 years, and Grace Family's 80!  With such a lengthy record of service to God and community, the congregations are looking forward to new opportunities God will be providing.  Brother Bill notes, "There were virtually no duplications of positions when we joined together.  Isn't it amazing how God arranges things?"  The new Grace Family Church will be focusing on community and foreign missions, in obedience to the commission to "Go into the world and make disciples".
-Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers (and sisters!) to dwell together in unity!
