Tonight’s City Council Agenda
There will be a City Council meeting tonight at 6 PM in the Central High School Auditorium. The public is invited to attend. The agenda is below.

2) Introduction of the following item(s) (with public hearing to be held at the November 25, 2014 council meeting):
a) An ordinance to provide for the requesting and obtaining of crash reports prepared by the Central Police Department and the establishment of fees associated with such requests, and to provide for all related matters. (By Councilman Evans)
b) An ordinance to amend 2014-2015 Fiscal Year Budget to properly account for Crash Report Fees collected by the Central Police Department and to provide for related matters. (By Councilman Evans)
c) An ordinance to amend the Development Code of the City of Central. Chapter 13 relative to roadway testing and inspection standards and related matters for residential and commercial subdivisions, and to provide for the modification and/or deletion of other relevant Sections in connection therewith. (By Councilman Ellis)
d) An ordinance to amend and reenact Appendix 1, Chapter 15, Section 15.2, Subsection (D) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Central relative to nonconforming structures and uses and mobile homes and to provide for all related matters. (By Councilman Evans)
Commission Action (October 23, 2014): A motion to recommend approval of the ordinance as written was made by Mr. Harry Rauls, seconded by Mr. Graydon Walker. Vote: 6 yeas (Messrs: Anderson, Burns, Matlock, Rauls, Sharafkhani, Walker), 0 nays, 1 absent (Messr: T. J. Johnson) and the motion carried.
e) An ordinance to amend and reenact Appendix 1, Chapter 18, Section 18.1, Subsections (C)(3)(a) and (C)(3)(b) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Central relative to the minimum lot area required for single mobile homes used for residential purposes in Rural/Agricultural Districts and to provide for all related matters. (By Councilman Messina)
Commission Action (October 23, 2014): A motion to recommend approval of the ordinance with the stipulation that Chapter 18, Section 18.1, Subsection (C)(3)(b) which states that the minimum lot width be changed to 150 feet was made by Mr. Paul Burns, seconded by Mr. Graydon Walker. Vote: 6 yeas (Messrs: Anderson, Burns, Matlock,
Rauls, Sharafkhani, Walker), 0 nays, 1 absent (Messr: T.J. Johnson) and the motion carried.
3) Public Hearing and action regarding the following instrument(s):
a) An ordinance to provide for official storage locations for the Central Police Department and to provide for all related matters. (By Councilman Evans)
b) An ordinance to provide for an approved law enforcement rotation list for wrecker and tow service for the Central Police Department and to provide for all related matters. (By Councilman Evans)

2) Discussion and action regarding the following case(s):
a) CBOA-12-14 Waiver of design standards for nonresidential structures
within the corridor overlay district for construction of Pat’s Home Center
of Central. Applicant: Darrin Vince (By Councilman Messina)
Board Action (October 15, 2014): Mr. Firmin recommended that the accessory building needs to have blocks the same 8’ height as the main building for maintenance issues. The applicant said he could make that change to the building to make the accessory building match the front building. Mr. Firmin also recommended that the lumber shed also have the 8’ high block to match the other buildings. The applicant said he would do the blocks. Mike Stein moved that the Board recommend that the City Council grant the variance to allow the metal panels above the split face concrete blocks on all buildings consistent with the configuration of the primary building and the plans be modified accordingly. The rear structures (the accessory building and lumber shed) shall match the front structures. Charlie Wroten seconded the motion with the stipulations. Vote: 5 yeas (Eller, Firmin, Simoneaux, Stein, and Wroten), 1 nay (Ragland), 1 absent (Stevens), and the motion passed.
