Central Bloomers Update

By  |

bloomersjulyBOn July 15, 2014 the Central Bloomers Garden Club met at the home of Jeri Nicholson for a lecture of Bromeliads.  After a tour of Jeri’s gardens, Mr. Charles Birdsong displayed many different types of Bromeliads. Bromeliads are beautiful tropical  plants that prefer a very light soil, such as the soil for Orchids or African Violets. Mounting them on natural wood makes a great presentation. The leaves collect the needed moisture from the cup of the plant; they like either morning or evening sun in a window and do not like cold.
