It is normal for men to continue to have a healthy libido, or interest in sexual activity, for their entire lives. But many men suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED). High blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and medications can all make erectile dysfunction occur. Treatments for prostate cancer and some benign problems can also lead to impotence.

The good news is that many options are available for men, both surgical and non-surgical. ED is treatable. Many doctors can get you started on the path to treating ED, but a urologist is specially trained to work through the options and arrive at your best solution.

PRESENTED BY: Dr. J Dudley Atkinson, IV – Ochsner Medical Center of Baton Rouge Urologist. Dr. Atkinson completed his training at the LSU/Ochsner Urology residency program where he was chief resident. Prior to this he graduated from the Tulane University School of Medicine. Baton Rouge is his hometown, and he graduated from LSU as a petroleum engineer. After college he joined the US Navy as a submarine officer and retired as a Lieutenant Commander to pursue his vocation of medicine.
