Fire Department Conducting Drills Wednesday

By  |

The Central Fire Department will be conducting a series of active shooter/mass casualty training scenarios at the old Central Middle School site Wednesday, February 26.  The training will be conducted throughout the day and also involve personnel from the EBR Sheriff's Office, Central Police Department, EBR EMS, Acadian Ambulance Service, District Six Fire Department, and East Side Fire Department.  The Central Community School System will be actively involved providing personnel and students.

The training will stress inter agency cooperation, command and control, location and apprehension of suspect(s), and rapid triage, treatment, and transport of victims.

Agencies have been preparing for several months to provide realistic training for all involved.  There should be no interruption of traffic flow on Sullivan and Hooper Road. Citizens traveling through the area, however, may experience sights and sounds associated with the training.
